Rose Sakuda is a US citizen born in Maasailand in Kenya. Her early years were very similar to the restricted lives with limited futures of the Enkusero Sampu girls today. 

Rose's life changed when she met two Christian missionaries visiting the Ngong Hill country.  Their outreach introduced her to Jesus Christ, the possibilities of education, and the contribution women can make to society. 

Fortified by the support of these two Christian women, Rose became a follower of Christ, pursued her education and stepped into church and community leadership roles -- all the time learning to lean on the word of God when faced with setbacks. 

Rose now lives in Southern California where she works full time.  In her spare time, she fundraises, educates, and prays for the welfare of the people of Enkusero Sampu.  Rose returns to her beloved Kenya every year, to support the village of Enkusero Sampu and to visit friends and loved ones there.
